Dancing with the feet is one thing; Dancing with the heart is another

Immersive Dance seamlessly supports the curriculum & compliments a more holistic learning experience.

    1:1

Dance can aid understanding & learning and also provide an opportunity for self regulation.

DMD sessions are therapeutic in their nature. The combination of a structure and routine, with the freedom to choose & move creatively, has a long-lasting positive effect.

DMD provides students with a safe and creative space in which to thrive.

    CPD

Often staff feel at a loss for how to facilitate Dance within the curriculum.

I can inspire new ideas to aid you moving forwards on your own, and support you through observations, workshops and planning time.

    PMLD

Using our senses, and immersing ourselves in music and props; we can create topic based sessions for all to access. There are no limitations!

  • A woman with gray hair wearing a blue dress performing a headstand yoga pose on the steps of a building with stone columns and large wooden doors.

    Yoga

Drawing on my passion for all things Yoga, sessions have a sensory/therapeutic nature to calm the body down for the rest of the day.

DMD incorporates Yoga poses, breath work, meditation/mindfulness, and massage when appropriate. Students are given the tools to be able to self regulate, so that they can best access the rest of their day.

    Special Yoga classes coming soon!

  • Adults

Dancing Miss Daisy facilitates sessions without limitations, supporting those with needs in a range of settings through 6th form, College and beyond.

DMD sessions can take place in your community hall, social space, classroom, living space, outside…anywhere! People of all ages can get creative and share in the joy of movement long into adulthood.

What does Dance with Daisy look like?

Daisy- a woman-sitting on the floor with two children, engaging in a playful activity, smiling and laughing, in a school hall.

A typical session:

  • Hellos & Introductions

  • Warm up / Stretch & Grow

  • Using our space

  • Exploring our topic/skill

  • Yoga/ Cool down

  • Relaxation & Bubbles

We will often follow a Googleslide, or symbols are used to define our timetable for each session.

Age appropriate, varied music is used & prepared ahead of time to reflect the energy of activities and topic of reference. It is an important element of a DMD session, and can enhance learning & help to regulate participants.

Sessions could be:

  • Topic based to seamlessly support learning in other areas of the curriculum

  • Goal based in line with pupil’s targets

  • Project based, or geared towards performance work

  • Used as an intervention for individuals or groups of students…

The sky is the limit!

Dance really is for all to access, and I’m here to help you explore how.
